About John

John Gillam, ABR, DREI, GSL, is a third-generation real estate broker. After working in social services for several years, John began in real estate, managing a firm, in 2000. Since then, he has grown his knowledge base to both teach, and service general residential, commercial and farm/ranch and is licensed in both Colorado and New Mexico. He began teaching pre-licensing courses in 2004 and found a passion for working with brokers in realizing the importance of the role they play in their communities. He tries to develop greater understanding of how brokers may better protect themselves and their clients through a stronger knowledge of their relationships, contracts, and exploring broader options for their clients and knowing how to best communicate those options.

John continues to be active with the National Association of REALTORS® organization as an instructor teaching and presenting at local, state, and national classes and conferences. He has earned multiple designations for areas of specialty in both his real estate practice and as an instructor, including the Gold Standard Leader (GSL) certification from The Real Estate Educators Association, which allows him to instruct other real estate educators around the U.S. on how to maintain best practices. He is a firm believer in giving back to the community, in supporting his fellow REALTORS®, and in always raising the bar!
